Charu Mangla Goel
Psychotherapy for healing the mind, body & spirit
My Therapeutic Approach
As a psychologist working holistically, I draw from a psychodynamic psychotherapy framework to support you in exploring the deeper roots of emotional distress—whether it shows up as symptoms, behaviours, or relational challenges.
My approach focuses on helping you understand your internal world: your thoughts, beliefs, and the unconscious patterns that were often formed early in life as coping strategies. These patterns can continue to shape how you relate to yourself and others, sometimes in ways that no longer serve you.
Through our work together, you’ll begin to connect with vulnerable parts of yourself—painful emotions like shame or guilt, and unresolved life experiences that may remain hidden but impact your current capacity for emotional regulation and relationships. By bringing these "shadow" aspects into awareness, we can begin to integrate them, allowing you to experience a deeper sense of yourself as a ‘whole’.
Therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space to witness yourself with curiosity and compassion. As we connect with and begin to heal your inner child, you'll gain access to inner resources like joy, self-love, and freedom. This healing opens up the possibility for new choices, more fulfilling relationships, meaningful work, and a renewed sense of agency in your life.

About Charu Mangla Goel
I am a registered psychologist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling Psychology. With over 15 years of experience, I have worked psychotherapeutically with adolescents and adults across diverse cultural backgrounds, in settings ranging from private practice and hospitals to the community sector.
My clinical work is grounded in trauma-informed, evidence-informed models of care. I have advanced knowledge and extensive experience in supporting individuals recovering from complex trauma, including survivors of persecution. In my time as a Practice Lead in the community sector, I provided clinical supervision, professional learning, and specialist consultation to counsellors and service systems supporting trauma-impacted individuals.
Alongside clinical practice, I have taught psychology and been involved with psychoanalytic research at universities in India, Finland, and the UK.
As a committed spiritual seeker, I draw upon regular meditation practice and participation in spiritual workshops, integrating these insights into my therapeutic approach in a way that respects each client's unique beliefs and experiences.
I bring a warm, collaborative, and reflective presence to my work, supporting individuals in their journey toward healing, meaning, and growth.
